The Saturdays Are So 1995

Just when The Saturdays (@TheSaturdays) were at risk of mediocrity, Gentleman premieres itself to a baffled yet beloved reviewer. The only humanely possible response to the first listen of Gentleman is it’s increasingly preposterous, a freaky little tune with 90s flavour and risqué tongue-in-cheek super fast pseudo-rapping. It’s after the second listen that I (@LamTang) am completely dumbfounded, the girls have struck gold with the genuine genius of Gentleman.

The swinging follow-up to What About Us is an inventive pop game changer, an eccentric and electric dance track evoking the very best of Girls Aloud (@GirlsAloud). The hook is ridiculous, a charming combination of ludicrous and mind-blowing in a strange spitfire of rapid rapping and male pin-up name-dropping from the fivesome in an epic pop record.
